What ever you are planning for, here are some tips to stay cool and have fun this Summer with your alternative hair.
HAIR CARE TIPS:
We recommend washing your wigs and toppers every 6-8 full days wears. With the weather being hotter and most of us are outdoors more, it is possible you may need to modify this. Use your best judgement when choosing how often to wash your wig or topper. If you are sweating more, being more active, going to the beach or pool, or perhaps sitting by a bbq or bonfire—you may need to wash it sooner. STYLING & ACCESSORIES TIPS TO STAY COOL:
Accessorize your hair with sunglasses, hats, and head wraps.
Rotate your older wigs and toppers to wear at the beach and pool.
Styling your hair with updos, braids, ponytails—pulling your hair up and/or back to stay cool.
PACKING TIPS:
Be sure to pack your wig or toppers in individual gallon size Ziplock bags. This will ensure your wig or topper does not develop friction frizz or get damaged in your luggage. It also helps reduce frizzing on your alternative human hair as it will not be exposed to the weather elements until you wear it.
No worries if you do fly somewhere. The most frequent alternative hair travel question we get is—will my clips or ear tabs set off the security at the airport. The answer is, no. We have traveled through dozens of airports with our hair on and never had an issue. If for some reason this does happen, don’t worry. Discreetly tell the TSA agent you would like to request a female agent and tell her you are wearing a wig or topper. If she would like to check the wig or topper, please ask to be checked in a private room if you don’t want her doing it in the middle of security.
